Collaboration between human and machine

By linking physical machines with digital systems, you can significantly save time. This reduces the need for manual tasks across production, logistics, and support departments. It also helps minimize downtime, reduce production errors, and optimize inventory management. Additionally, it provides greater insights, as data becomes more comprehensive and can be analyzed to make better operational decisions.

At smart.box, we begin by understanding your business processes and the purpose of the interaction. From there, we create the right smart solution, enabling you to start quickly and work more effectively.

Interaction with Production Resources

By connecting machines, you can trigger the right signals to automate actions, from adjusting machine settings to starting or stopping tasks. In some cases, this involves collaboration between humans and machines, with smart.box serving as the link to ensure seamless cooperation.

Here are some examples of interaction:

  • Visual or audio signals assist the operator in working effectively with the machine.

  • Machines start and stop automatically based on process signals or sensor data.

  • If a fault is detected, the system can automatically adjust production or notify maintenance personnel.

Interaction with Logistics

A significant amount of (hidden) waste in many companies occurs in logistics, where people are required to move and manage goods. This takes away from value-added time and, in many cases, can be done more efficiently.

There are several ways to improve logistics interaction:

  • Pick up & deliver: An AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) or logistics employee delivers the right materials to the workplace at the right time, with fully automated signaling.

  • Intermediate storage systems (such as Kardex, Hainel, Kasto, etc.) supply materials at the right time based on smart planning, reducing waiting time for employees and orders.

  • Robots communicate with a central system that tracks inventory and optimizes logistical decisions.

“Never wait for sawing materials to be delivered.”

Jaap Koster
Operations Manager – SunCircle

SunCircle operates entirely digitally in production and logistics, with all activities managed through smart.box. The production of sun protection begins with sawing, and sawing lists are automatically displayed in the correct order at the saw tables.

As soon as sawing list A starts, the materials for sawing list B are already being retrieved from the Kardex warehouse. These are delivered directly to the available saw table, allowing the employee to immediately begin the next sawing list. This significantly reduces waiting time.

Once each product is sawed, barcode stickers are automatically printed, containing all the necessary information for the next operation.
